Letter K Books for a Toddler

Just another "letter of the week" book list! I couldn't find anything else that quite fit what I was looking for so I'm saving my lists and observations for use in the future. This is compiled from several sites on the internet and my own browsing at the library. Tops picks are based on the interest of a 2.5 year old.

The regulars:
My K Book, Jane Belk Moncure
Kk, Kelly Doudna

Top picks:
Koala Lou, Mern Fox This book took some time to get into, but by the end of the week she loved it.
Kitten's First Full Moon, Henkes Nice and simple, worked well for the toddler attention span. "Kitten" is on every page.
Kite Day, Hillenbrand "K" is not used a whole lot in this book, but it introduced the idea of a kite for us.
Counting Kisses, Katz I'm not crazy about Karen Katz books bu my toddler loves them. "Kiss" is on every page.
King Bidgood's in the Bathtub, Wood The art in the book is so engaging. It has less "k" sounds than I go for, but we both loved reading it and spotting things in the pictures.

Longer books for older children:
Katy No-Pocket, Payne This book is so cute and sweet, and truly about a kangaroo, so lots of "k"s! There are a lot of words on each page and it was just too long for a toddler.
A Kissing Hand, Penn We did get through this one once, but she was never that interested again, and getting through it that one time was difficult. There weren't a lot of "k" sounds, but the story is good for a child with some separation anxiety.

What I don't recommend:
Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, Carle Save this for "M" week! The word "mother" is repeated over and over, but "kangaroo"only shows up once.
The Princess Knight, Funke This uses silent "k", not the "k" sound.
The Noisy Paint Box, Rosenstock A cool story about Kandinsky, but not featuring the letter "k"

What I couldn't find (but would look for in the future):
Kate, the Cat, and the Moon by David Almond
K is for Kissing a Cool Kangaroo by Giles Andrea, I'd love to find this, since we love "Giraffes Can't Dance".
Small Knight and George by Rhonda Armitage
The King and the Three Thieves by Kristin Balouch
Imagine You are a Knight, Meg Clibbon
King Midas and the Golden Tough by Charlotte Craft
The Knight and the Dragon, Tomi DePaola
Butterflies for Kiri, Cathryn Falwell
The King, the Mice, and the Cheese, Gurney I read several reviews that this book is excellent.
A Kiss for Little Bear, Minarik
Stuck, Jeffers
Knock at the Door, Kemp
Kite Flying, Lin
Marsupial Sue, Lithgow
The Bravest Knight, Mayer
Take Care, Good Knight, Moore
A Pocketful of Kisses, Penn
A Kiss Goodbye, Penn
Big Red Kangaroo, Saxby
Kali's Song, Winter
Bear and Kite, Wright
