Just another "letter of the week" book list! I couldn't find anything
else that quite fit what I was looking for so I'm saving my lists and
observations for use in the future. This is compiled from several sites
on the internet and my own browsing at the library. Tops picks are based
on the interest of a 3 year old. My top picks have significant
repetition of the letter sound and hold a toddler's attention.

Thank You, Mr. Panda, Steve Antony
What I don't recommend:
Pippa at the Parade, Karen Roosa, This was a good book for introducing a what a parade was, but didn't include much of the "p" sound.
Pig and Pug, Lynne Berry, There was many, many "p" words on each page, but this book was so hard to follow. It may be easier with older children when you can take in the book more slowly. I imagine a certain sense of humor may like this book better than I did!

What I don't recommend:
The Three Ninja Pigs, Corey Rosen Schwartz, A very fun and clever book, but not many "n" sounds
Noisy Nora, Rosemary Wells, We love Wells' books, but this didn't have many "n" sounds, and also called the main character, Nora, "dumb" which I didn't like.

Letter O Books for a Toddler
Just another "letter of the week" book list! I couldn't find anything
else that quite fit what I was looking for so I'm saving my lists and
observations for use in the future. This is compiled from several sites
on the internet and my own browsing at the library. Tops picks are based
on the interest of a 2.5 year old.
The regulars:
My O Book, Jane Belk Moncure
Oo, Kelly Doudna
Top picks:
Ollie, Dunrea, short and simple read.
Oh!, Henkes, You can teach your toddler to recognize and read each "oh"!
Owen, Henkes,
Thank You, Octopus, Farrell, This book is goofy, and was a huge hit.
Otis, Long
The Cow That Went Oink, Most, If you like finding letters on the page there are lots of "o"s to do that with in this book!
Olivia, Falconer, The story was bland, but the sound repetition was there.
In! Over! and On! the Farm, Long, A big hit.
Little Oink, Rosenthal, These books (Little Hoot, also) are hit and miss with the toddler here, but a fun read.
Longer books for older children:
Also an Octopus, We got through this book, but the concepts were a little too advanced for my toddler.
One Odd Day, Fisher and Sneed, This is a neat math book about odd and even numbers!
What I don't recommend:
Ox-Cart Man, Hall An interesting book, but it was long for younger children and didn't have a lot of "o" sounds.
The Odd One Out, Teckentrup We loved this book for the puzzles. It's not helpful for learning the "o" sound though.
One, Otoshi, This may go over better with older children. Sometimes it felt hard to separate the numbers, sounds, and colors in this book in a way that a toddler could understand. I think it's best purposes could be in other lessons, like colors, numbers, bullying.
An Octopus is Amazing, Lauber, A non-fiction book about octopuses. With my toddler, this type of read doesn't reinforce the sound because the words octopus just isn't repeated enough. I could see other children making the association, though.
What I couldn't find (but would look for in the future):
Over in the Ocean, Berkes
Oscar the Otter, Benchley
Octopus Opposites, Blackstone
I Have an Olive Tree, Bunting
Old MacDonald Had A Farm, Dean
How To Hide an Octopus, Heller
Oliver, Hoff
Owl at Home, Lobel
My Very Own Octopus, Most

Kk, Kelly Doudna
Top picks:
Koala Lou, Mern Fox This book took some time to get into, but by the end of the week she loved it.
Kitten's First Full Moon, Henkes Nice and simple, worked well for the toddler attention span. "Kitten" is on every page.
Kite Day, Hillenbrand "K" is not used a whole lot in this book, but it introduced the idea of a kite for us.
Counting Kisses, Katz I'm not crazy about Karen Katz books bu my toddler loves them. "Kiss" is on every page.
King Bidgood's in the Bathtub, Wood The art in the book is so engaging. It has less "k" sounds than I go for, but we both loved reading it and spotting things in the pictures.
Longer books for older children:
Katy No-Pocket, Payne This book is so cute and sweet, and truly about a kangaroo, so lots of "k"s! There are a lot of words on each page and it was just too long for a toddler.
A Kissing Hand, Penn We did get through this one once, but she was never that interested again, and getting through it that one time was difficult. There weren't a lot of "k" sounds, but the story is good for a child with some separation anxiety.
What I don't recommend:
Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, Carle Save this for "M" week! The word "mother" is repeated over and over, but "kangaroo"only shows up once.
The Princess Knight, Funke This uses silent "k", not the "k" sound.
The Noisy Paint Box, Rosenstock A cool story about Kandinsky, but not featuring the letter "k"
What I couldn't find (but would look for in the future):
Kate, the Cat, and the Moon by David Almond
K is for Kissing a Cool Kangaroo by Giles Andrea, I'd love to find this, since we love "Giraffes Can't Dance".
Small Knight and George by Rhonda Armitage
The King and the Three Thieves by Kristin Balouch
Imagine You are a Knight, Meg Clibbon
King Midas and the Golden Tough by Charlotte Craft
The Knight and the Dragon, Tomi DePaola
Butterflies for Kiri, Cathryn Falwell
The King, the Mice, and the Cheese, Gurney I read several reviews that this book is excellent.
A Kiss for Little Bear, Minarik
Stuck, Jeffers
Knock at the Door, Kemp
Kite Flying, Lin
Marsupial Sue, Lithgow
The Bravest Knight, Mayer
Take Care, Good Knight, Moore
A Pocketful of Kisses, Penn
A Kiss Goodbye, Penn
Big Red Kangaroo, Saxby
Kali's Song, Winter
Bear and Kite, Wright
