Just another "letter of the week" book list! I couldn't find anything
else that quite fit what I was looking for so I'm saving my lists and
observations for use in the future. This is compiled from several sites
on the internet and my own browsing at the library. Tops picks are based
on the interest of a 3 year old. My top picks have significant
repetition of the letter sound and hold a toddler's attention.
This was a tricky week! To get it more repetition of the X sounds I did some commentary about the story and illustrations.
The regulars:
My X, Y, Z Book, Jane Belk Moncure
X, Kelly Doudna
Top picks:
Mix It Up, Herve Tullet, The clear favorite of the week!
Tea Rex, Molly Idle
Camp Rex, Molly Idle
Xander's Panda Party, Linda Sue Park, This was good for learning that X can make the Z sound.
Books Other Children May Enjoy:
The Adventures of Taxi Dog, Debra and Sal Barracca, My toddler just didn't get into this one.
Hattie and the Fox, Mem Fox, The fox is in the pictures, but not mentioned. My toddler just didn't get it, but an older child would!
Roxaboxen, Alice McLerran, A very lovely story for an older child. Too long for a little one.

Hello, Red Fox, Eric Carle

The Crayon Box that Talked, DeRolf
Xavier Ox's Xylophone Experiment, deRubertis
Christina Katerina and the Box, Gauch
